Curing and sealing concrete increases the strength and durability of the concrete surface. The appearance and visual coloration of decorative concrete is greatly enhanced. New colored concrete should be cured with a liquid applied, film-forming curing compound. Curing with plastic sheeting or water spray should never be utilized with colored concrete (except with Acid Stained Systems). Sealing concrete provides economical protection for floors and hardscapes, reducing maintenance costs. It also minimizes the effect of de-icing salts and exposure to gas or oil and discoloration from dirt and spills.
Again, there are a variety of excellent products available for the curing and sealing of the concrete surface, and should be specified according to the final product to be installed or applied the cured concrete.
